Favorite Thing About Huskies/Northern Breeds: One of my favorite things about huskies is how much they love being with people and their hilarious attitudes. Each pup has their own unique personality and that's what makes them so fun!

Favorite Thing About Huskies/Northern Breeds: Huskies (and mixes/northern breeds) are the perfect intersection of intelligence and silliness.
About Me
Originally from the Great White North, I share a love for snow and winter with the breeds of dogs our community is passionate about serving. Having moved across country borders and state lines, my one constant has been my love for animals. A proud fur parent to my 4-year-old husky mix, Tillie, Arctic Rescue was a natural fit for my volunteer work upon moving to the SLC area. Committed to setting Arctic Rescue up for success well into years ahead, I am privileged to draw on both my past rescue experience and professional experience at a boutique consulting firm. As Foster Committee Chair, I am most looking forward to getting to know many more volunteers, fosters, and adopters, and scaling the program to help as many dogs as possible.

About Me
I made my way to Utah 2 years ago with my partner, after living in the midwest, east coast and most recently Los Angeles, California! I have nearly 10 years of experience working in broadcast media and reality television and it's an absolutely joy to be able to join the Arctic Rescue team to help Arctic Breeds find their furever homes. You can find me on the ice rink, at a local cidery, or more than likely running (with my dog, ha!) outside in the city :) .

Favorite Thing About Huskies/Northern Breeds: I identify with arctic breeds because they are goofy, stubborn, energetic, have wild hair, and love to sing… just like me! My dogs help me more than I help them.
About Me
It is an honor to be a part of Arctic Rescue. We dedicate time and energy to finding healthy and stable homes for dogs in need. I started volunteering by fostering and learned how easy it is to fall in love with our four legged friends. Since then, I found how critical it is to find volunteers and fosters to help these dogs find their forever homes. Without fosters, transporters, and adopters—and so many other volunteers, dogs won't get a chance. But when it works, it really works wonders. I've also learned burnout is common in rescue because volunteering can at times seem a thankless task. But when I see a dog get adopted and how much love is reciprocated between the dog and its new human, it all becomes worth the challenges.

Favorite Thing About Huskies/Northern Breeds: Huskies—and other northern breeds—feel like they’re really only half dog. The rest? It's hard to say for sure—perhaps stardust, magic, or something not quite of this world. They’re brilliant, strong, and capable of things most dogs wouldn’t even attempt, yet they still choose to love us humans with their whole hearts. Life with a husky is never boring; they’re bursting with personality—snarky, sweet, stubborn, and endlessly loyal. Honestly, they’re kind of like Sour Patch Kids, but so much better. They’re the whole package.
About Me
I’m an educator, writer, and content developer with an MA in Comparative Studies and experience writing about animals, the environment, and the stories that connect them. My background includes anthrozoology, animal behavior, cinema, philosophy, and hands-on work with all kinds of animals, from huskies and hawks to hedgehogs and cats.
Outside of work, I love analyzing films, studying stories, sewing and creating, playing piano, going on adventures, and volunteering with Arctic Rescue. I actually joined the rescue as a cat mom with no dogs at all—but I quickly fell in love with the rescue’s mission and its incredible people. And of course, it didn’t take long for me to fall for a husky of my own: My sweet LunaBella, a rescue who came to us with her seven newborn puppies (including Amy’s pup Oberon!). I was only supposed to foster her for three days, but she ended up changing my life, and we simply couldn’t let her go. She’s my daily reminder of how love, patience, and trust can bring out the best in everyone—humans and dogs alike.
